[Hourglass] Revisions pt.1
This year my main focus is revising Hourglass (temp title) with a revision course through Holly Lisle. It's long and I know I'm going to try to give up part way through it but I think keeping a log of it might help. So, here is my very first entry of how revisions are going.
I finished the first lesson of How to Revise Your Novel (HTRYN) and man did I learn a lot about my novel. I wrote the whole series back in 2014 for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). I was expecting to need a lot of changes since my writing is way different now. I'm keeping the same premise of the story but I need to fix the plot since there are a lot of holes.
So, the novel is basically getting a rewrite. I need to reevaluate my characters and set up a series bible which I'm doing through Campfire Blaze right now. This is actually a normal process for me. My first drafts are always so questionable and my characters suck.
I guess that's what revisions and edits are for.
Time for lesson two of HTRYN.
